Two types of programs are offered in the city of Ferrara.
I. “Language and Culture” is ideal for students with little or no knowledge of Italian. Content courses are taught in English alongside intensive Italian-language classes. The classes, which are specifically designed for U.S. undergraduates, are held at the CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) Study Center (Academic Year, Fall, Spring). Courses are instructed in English. For additional information, see Study Abroad.
II. “Liberal Arts” is geared toward students with intermediate to advanced Italian language skills who seek to immerse themselves in the language and culture of Italy. It involves intensive language study together with content courses taught in Italian. Most classes will be held at the CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) Study Center, although advanced students may sign up for courses at the University of Ferrara (founded in 1391). Courses are instructed in Italian and provided for the Academic Year, Fall, Spring. For additional information, see Study Abroad
