Course Description:
This course will give students an overview of the history of the development of Italian sports from the ancient Roman Empire to modern times. Sports will be analyzed for their ability to offer insight into the many historical and cultural issues of the country. The course will also analyze how sports are shaped by the different historical moments and political realities as well as by race and gender.
