I attended the Carolina Conference for Romance Studies, 3/30-4/1, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I presented a paper, "Seeing and Believing? Natural, Unnatural, and Astronomical Rhetoric in Primo Levi's Sidereus Nuncius." This study investigates the role of experience and intellectual communication in Primo Levi's 1984 poem, titled "Sidereus Nuncius," as inspired by Galileo Galilei's 1610 scientific writing under the same title. My aim is to show how seventeenth-century observation, experiment, and scientific communication informed Levi's literary practices.
