NEW scholarship for 2025! Robert Donald and Simona Wright Endowed Scholarship

This gift will be used to support undergraduate students. Awards will be based on academic merit and financial need. Preference will be given to students studying Italian Studies. All awards will be made in accordance with University rules in effect at the date of the award for determining need and/or merit.

Started in 2024. Dr. Cynthia C. Capone & Connie Raymond Endowed Study Abroad Scholarship

 Recipients are to be selected among full-time undergraduate students based on academic merit as determined by the Program Administrator, financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and University rules in effect on the date of the award. Qualified students must submit the appropriate University-approved financial aid form each year to be eligible for an award. Recipients must be United States citizens or permanent residents who have limited international travel experience, are in either their junior or senior year, majoring or minoring in Italian Studies with a cumulative GPA greater than 3.0, and have plans to study abroad in Italy for a full academic year. Students must take a minimum of 12 credits per semester that are not pass/fail/no credit courses during their time abroad. If no students are studying in Italy for a full academic year, students who study abroad for a semester and meet all the other above criteria may be chosen.

Coccia Foundation Scholarships & Memorial Scholarships

The Coccia Foundation has been a long-term supporter of Rutgers Italian Dept. and Rutgers students. Look below for the list of previous awarded scholarships.  Students who are Italian or Italian Studies majors or minors, can apply.  This can be used for study abroad. The application process includes writing your personal statement. Include info. on how the scholarship will assist in your Italian Studies or career path after you graduate and how the scholarship will be utilized. Gather applications, personal statement, headshot, transcript, and resume to submit with your personal statement.
