Marino Forlino

As of July 1, 2022, Marino has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor with tenure at Scripps College.

Marino Forlino received his BA in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the Università degli Studi di Firenze, a Diploma in American Studies from Smith College, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Italian from Rutgers University. He was originally hired as Assistant Professor of Italian at Scripps College and Director of the Modern Language Resource Center. His areas of specialization include Italian literature from the Medieval through the Baroque periods (with a particular focus on Boccaccio and Basile), the history of the Italian short story, the birth of the fairy tale, and foreign language teaching and learning. 

He is currently making revisions to his book tentatively titled: “Esoterico, Erotico, Esotico: la Cuntaminazione de Lo Cunto de li Cunti in Cinque Giornate e Mille e Una Notte”.
