Alberto Iozzia defended his Ph.D. dissertation at Rutgers in the Fall of 2018. He has worked as a Visiting Lecturer of Italian at the University of Indiana and he currently is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Italian, Film and Media Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. He teaches courses on Italian film, theater and literature and his research focuses on speculative fiction and post-apocalyptic narrative.

I received my Ph.D. from Rutgers in 2011 and my research focused on emerging post-colonial literature. For almost a decade, I taught modern literature, cinema and language in the Italian program at Penn State. In 2019 I left Penn State for a position in the Office of International Programs at Princeton where I advised students studying abroad in the UK, Ireland and East Asia. I currently serve as the assistant dean in one of the seven residential colleges at Princeton University (New College West). I work primarily with first and second-year students to oversee all aspects of academic life including advising, degree progress and academic support.

Marino Forlino, Ph.D. RU'15
As of July 1, 2022, Marino has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor with tenure at Scripps College.
Marino Forlino received his BA in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the Università degli Studi di Firenze, a Diploma in American Studies from Smith College, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Italian from Rutgers University. He was originally hired as Assistant Professor of Italian at Scripps College and Director of the Modern Language Resource Center. His areas of specialization include Italian literature from the Medieval through the Baroque periods (with a particular focus on Boccaccio and Basile), the history of the Italian short story, the birth of the fairy tale, and foreign language teaching and learning.
He is currently making revisions to his book tentatively titled: “Esoterico, Erotico, Esotico: la Cuntaminazione de Lo Cunto de li Cunti in Cinque Giornate e Mille e Una Notte”.

I graduated from Rutgers College in 1996, with a BA; with a major in French and minor in Education. In 1998, I studied for one year in Paris with a program from Middlebury College, based in Middlebury, Vermont; earning a MA in French. Since 2002, I have been teaching French and Italian at Pascack Valley Regional HS District, where I began the successful Italian program in 2003 with the assistance of a NIAF Grant. Additionally, I received summer study abroad scholarships from the Italian Consulate of New York in 2001 (Perugia) and 2006 (Florence). In 2008, I returned to Rutgers for several summers, to participate in the MAT Italian program, including a summer program 2010 in Urbino with Dr. Baldi and other students from Rutgers.
