Eny V. Di Iorio was born in Italy in 1949, and is the Dean of Academic Development at the Institute Lorenzo de’ Medici, in Florence, Italy, since 2009. He holds a Ph.D. degree from Rutgers University, and M.A. degrees from Rutgers University, NYU and La Sorbonne/Paris IV. He promotes activities that lead to the internationalization of the programs, assesses teaching methodologies, learning outcomes, program evaluations and quality assurance. He develops both degree and non-degree programs across disciplines offered at LdM sites. He works with faculty members to contribute to classroom teaching methodology, and program evaluations. He represents the institute at conferences, fairs, and visits universities across the US and overseas. He has taught courses in Italian and Comparative Literature. His current studies concern postmodern philosophy, and has published several articles, and books related to the doubles in literature. He has published literary texts, and various essays and reviews. His studies concern the unknowable subtleties of the human personality in areas such as naturalism, realism, poetry.

Mariani, Annachiara

Annachiara Mariani graduated in 2010 with a dissertation on Italian Grotesque Theater and Pirandello. In 2008, she was hired as a Lecturer of Italian and Spanish at the the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 2018, she was hired as Assistant Professor of Italian at the same university. Her research interests are on Italian Cinema, National and Trans National Media Studies and Italian Theater. She has authored a book on Italian Grotesque Theater and Pirandello (2013) and published numerous articles, essays and book reviews on Italian Theater, Contemporary Italian Cinema and the interrelationship between Cinema and Literature. Her forthcoming publications include a special edition of the journal of Italian Cinema and Media Studies on Paolo
Sorrentino’s films and TV series. She is currently working on a book-length project on representation of trauma and power in contemporary Italian and American TV series.

After graduation I spent several months working in a restaurant until my current job offered me a position. I still use my Italian from time to time when speaking to certain sources. However, my Italian culture courses have unexpectedly proven extremely useful throughout my career as a journalist here in New Jersey.

Francesco Pascuzzi (Rutgers’14) Assistant Professor with the Rutgers English Department Writing Program.
I'm currently co-authoring the first English translation of Porpora Marcasciano's autobiography Antologaia with Dr. Sandra Waters, to be finalized for publishing by the end of the year.
In 2015, I edited 'Dreamscapes in Italian Cinema,' an anthology that examines the oneiric realm in Italian film history (Fairleigh Dickinson University Press), and I have since then published book chapters and essays on filmic representations of motherhood, mourning, and identity. I am currently editing a volume that considers the coding of space and place in world horror film, and I am researching a manuscript on heterotopias and horror film culture. My main field of research encompasses comparative and transnational studies between Italian and foreign cinema, and my current interests include modern and contemporary horror film, Hallyu and contemporary Korean cinema, Italian auteur film of the new millennium, and contemporary queer cinema.

I am a teacher in the West Orange School District. I teach Italian 2 Honors, Italian 4, and Italian 4 Honors at West Orange High School. I am also the co-advisor for the Italian Club and the Italian Honor Society. I have been organizing trips to Italy from my junior and senior students.
