Instructor

Rosario has received his MA in Classics (1996), his PhD in Philosophy and History of Ideas (2001) from Catania University and a Post-Doctoral scholarship from UNIFESP (Federal University of São Paulo). He has been teaching Italian, Latin, Greek and Classical Philology in Italian High Schools for twenty years and has been cooperating with many Universities all over the world (Catania; Roma, Tor Vergata; L’Aquila; Firenze; São Paulo; Middlebury College). At Rutgers University, he teaches courses of Italian language and culture as a governmental lecturer. He loves being a teacher and a student as well. For that reason he has recently attended a program of Doctorate of Modern Languages (DML) at Middlebury College, Vermont and is writing his final dissertation about the myths and representations of Italian mafia. His first book, “Il mito di Cosa Nostra. La vera storia del Padrino”, co-authored with Antonio Nicaso, has just been published in Italy. In the rare moments when he does not work/study/write he likes walking with his daughter in New York City and watching movies.
