Hiromi KanedaHiromi Kaneda (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) received her B.A. in American and English Literature in 2003 from the Soka University of Japan. After working a few years as a translator, an interpreter and a teacher at the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo, she went back to study to earn a M.A. in Italian Literature at the University of Virginia. She wrote a thesis on the relations between myths, astronomical figures and animals in Il Gattopardo. During her graduate studies she began exploring the role of women either as authors or as characters in Italian literature and is interested in continuing her studies in this direction.
