Federica Soddu This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. is a 2nd year Phd student of the Department of Italian, at Rutgers University. She received her B.A. in Modern Languages at the University of Sassari and her M.A., summa cum laude, in Modern, Comparative and Postcolonial Literatures, from the University of Bologna. She is interested in contemporary Italian women writers, gender studies, colonialism and postocolonialism, migration and issues of language and identity. For her dissertation, she is thinking of exploring the nexus between body, language and space in several novels by contemporary women writers written in Italian, but she is also very curious of exploring the history of colonialism in Sardinia and its problematic postcolonial condition.  Back in Italy she attended a few summer schools that explored the possibility of a public archive of the affects with a main focus on gender and racial issues.
